BIO
Russ Bolt followed a first career in healthcare with a decade pursuing his interest in fine art photography. Currently living in Charlestown, MA, he has worked and resided in Minnesota, Northern California and the Philadelphia area.
Primarily self-taught, Russ enhanced his skills at the International Center of Photography in NYC, the Maine Photographic Workshops, and the New England School of Photography. He is a member of the Artist’s Group of Charlestown.
His photographs have won a number of awards at juried exhibitions of both art and photography. His book Chamber Light is a study of inside Fort Warren on Georges Island in the Boston Harbor. The book’s photographs were exhibited in the Mayor’s Gallery at Boston City Hall in 2010.
Russ’ photographs are not staged, combined or manipulated. Only exposure and color adjustments are made. He captures light, color, shapes and reflections that make the ordinary an opportunity to experience the pleasure of seeing.
